Tiny blue and purple vessels that appear on the surface of the skin are referred to as spider veins. These veins can be treated using a non-invasive laser treatment at Daniels Veins and Cosmetic Center. State of the art lasers deliver light energy below the surface of the skin, causing affected veins to seal shut and gradually disappear. The procedure is non-invasive and there is no downtime afterward.
During treatment, a small handheld device emits laser light to the targeted veins. Heat from the light causes the vein to coagulate, and eventually get reabsorbed by the body. Blood is rerouted through healthy veins nearby.
Laser spider vein treatment is usually performed without any type of anesthesia. Patients describe the tingling sensation of the laser as similar to a rubber band snapping against the skin. Patients that are concerned about their comfort level may request a topical anesthetic prior to the procedure.
After treatment, patients are able to return to regular activities right away. Results of the procedure may take a number of months to appear. Most patients require a series of sessions, spaced approximately one to three months apart, to achieve full desired results.
